Chicago must have some agencies that will be available to help your situation. Perhaps if you contact the gas company and ask them what agencies they recommend for help with utility bills, they will be able to point you in the right direction. I also think that there are probably shelters in the greater Chicago area that are usually a fairly quick and direct way to be able to access help from the system. Also since you have a disability perhaps there are some agencies that work with people who have various disabilities who can help. I urge you to keep looking for someone to help you. The local Health and Human Service system in Chicago ought to have some ideas.
